Responsibilities of the Breeder
Breeder warrants that the puppy is a healthy, sound, quality puppy that is current on all vaccinations and free from intestinal parasites. Breeder has provided this puppy with the best possible healthcare, grooming and socialization to get the puppy off on a great start. Puppies will also come with documented health certifications signed off by a licensed veterinarian. If for whatever reason within the first 12 months of age, the buyer cannot or does not wish to maintain custody of this puppy/dog, the buyer will contact the breeder and give the breeder first right of refusal on taking the puppy back with all paperwork and ownership transferred back to the breeder. Breeder will always accept a puppy back. But if a buyer would like to sell or place a puppy into another home, they may. Under no circumstances will the puppy be placed in a shelter or rescue.
Responsibilities of the Buyer
The buyer agrees to provide the highest quality of care for the puppy. This includes quality food, water, shelter from heat or cold, active companionship, appropriate exercise, quality training & professional veterinary care whenever necessary. Appropriate professional veterinary care including, but not limited to, annual exams, regular parasite checks and worming, if necessary, vaccinations as recommended by local protocol and regular heartworm preventive. Please keep documentation of all veterinary related care and medication/vaccinations.
Registration
This puppy is registered with AKC (American Kennel Club).
If
the buyer is provided with full registration, the buyer agrees to not make any attempt to breed the puppy/dog until:
1. Puppy/dog is a minimum of 24 months old and received a passing OFA (Orthopedic Foundation Of Animals) hip, elbow & eye score.
2. “Inherit disease checklist for the Labrador Retriever Breed.” Recommended testing presently consists of a
minimum
of: EIC (exercise Induced Collapse), CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy) & PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy). Breeder recommends confirmation of genetic tests by a health testing certified lab as Paw Print Genetics or Embark.
3. Buyer will
NOT
breed to any Labrador Retriever that carries the D-Locus (Dilute) “AKA Silver” gene.
4. Buyer will
NOT
breed to any breed other than a Labrador Retriever. By going against any of the above clauses, Buyer will be forced to sign over the breeding rights of the dog, have the dog spayed/neutered and
pay a “fine” to the Breeder of $5,000.
We value our name and have entrusted you with one of our puppies. We did not spend thousands of dollars on producing quality health tested, performing & quality dogs for you to ruin our name.
Health Guarantee
Muletown Labrador dogs go great lengths to produce healthy and sound puppies. The puppy is warranted to be free from any serious disease or conditional defect on the recommended testing list for the Labrador Retriever. The breeder does not warranty on any puppies passing their OFA scores. Even though the breeder assured both sire and dam have passing OFA scores there is no guarantee that the puppy will pass their scores. The breeder cannot be responsible for the buyer to allow the puppy to jump on or off of items too tall for the puppy or allow too hard of training or play at a young age.
Buyer agrees to take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of original transfer. If a veterinarian finds a serious problem with the puppy that is guaranteed as listed above or proven to be sick prior to leaving the breeder, the buyer may rescind the contract. Buyer must notify the breeder within 5 days of the evaluation and include veterinary records and diagnosis. Buyer must also give the breeder the right to clear communication with the veterinarian working on the case. If the buyer elects to rescind the contract because of health problems, upon buyer's surrender of the puppy and the puppy;s executed registration papers to the breeder, then the buyer will receive a full refund of the purchase price. If the buyer chooses to have the veterinarian treatment performed before the puppy is returned, the breeder is not responsible for the cost of veterinary care, and only the purchase price of the puppy will be returned. There are no guarantees implied or intended, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by both Muletown Labradors and the buyer.
The above warranties are not transferable to a new owner. Any puppy that is returned to the breeder for any reason will be done at the buyers expense for a refund.
The buyer understands that even though the breeder goes above and beyond to follow the Labrador Retriever necessary health testing and produce a healthy puppy that is free from congenital health conditions, not every condition can be tested for, and there’s always a risk when purchasing a puppy.
